Axon (RK3588) not booting – eMMC not detected in Maskrom ("Storage 1 is not available")

Hi team,

My Axon board stopped booting and I believe the onboard eMMC has failed. Details below.

AXON v1.0 r0.4
Purchase : Sep 2026

Symptoms

  • Power connected, red (power) + white + blue LEDs solid ON
  • On a working Axon the white LED blinks — here it never blinks
  • No SD card / NVMe was inserted, so it should boot from eMMC

What I tested (macOS, rkdeveloptool)

  1. Board enumerates in Maskrom: Vid=0x2207, Pid=0x350b → SoC and USB-OTG OK
  2. db rk3588_spl_loader_v1.15.113.bin → succeeds (DDR init OK)
    • Your u-boot repo’s RK3588MINIALL.ini (v1.14.113) uses the same DDR v1.14 blobs and the same usbplug family, so it’s not a loader mismatch
  3. rci → 38 38 35 33 ... (RK3588, normal)
  4. rid → 45 4D 4D 43 20 ("EMMC ")
  5. rfi → Flash Size: 0 MB / 0 Sectors
  6. cs 1 → “Change Storage failed! Storage 1 is not available.”
  7. ppt → “Not found any partition table!”
  8. rl at LBA 0, 16384, 1M, 8M, 30M, 60M → all return the identical 4 KB buffer, so reads never reach the eMMC
  9. Repeated after a full cold power-off (30s) → same result

Conclusion

The SoC, DDR and USB are fine, but the eMMC is not detected by the loader at achip/solder or eMMC power-rail failure rather than a corrupted image.

Questions

  1. Is there an Axon-specific loader I should try before concluding it’s hardware?
  2. Are there any test points to check the eMMC supply rails (VCC/VCCQ)?
  3. If it is a hardware fault, what’s the RMA/repair process? Happy to share purchase details.

Thanks!
