For the first time I tried using USB C ports with an arduino-like embedded controller and it wont power on. I’ve tried with my phone as well, it doesnt register anything.
No messages or logs in dmesg either.
Are these ports dead or is it a configuration issue on the board, or something else?

The USB-C ports are most likely not dead. I’ve tested this on my Axon board and the both type-c port works. It only enumerates a device once the Type-C role is negotiated correctly. Please try the following:
sudo dmesg -W while you plug in the device. A working port shows the xHCI host controller registering and then a line like usb 5-1: new high-speed USB device.I also tested with my phone. Earlier, no dmesg output appeared, but after enabling OTG on the phone, the device started showing up in dmesg.

Thank you for the reply, I think the issue might have been power delivery.
I briefly switched off the bluetooth, and everything seemed to power up just fine?
Thanks for the update! Glad it’s working now. Which power adapter are you using? Could you share its voltage and current ratings (for example, 12V/2A)? An underpowered adapter can cause this kind of behavior when Bluetooth and other peripherals draw extra current.
